The Origins of Gandy

Gossip has a lovely etymology which tells us a lot about how sort of women's homosocial lives in the early one period that these are your close friends and these are friends who you might ask to be godparents so god said gossip. There is that association between groups of women and talking a lot which is where it gets a lot it's connotation but it's also used to describe the women who gather together around a woman giving birth, for instance. The modern we live very cushy lives materially and we do we do very little most most of us now in the modern west very little manual labor but we tend to be atomized and lonely like our ancestors did.
