Conquest Castles - How to Build a Mot and Bailey Castle

A mot and Bailey castle could be built in less than two weeks. The Normans used the defenses of Dover to supplement their own castle there. Because mot and Bailey castles were only a fraction of the size of a burr, this could be done easily anywhere a burr existed. But it would also require the destruction of homes and properties of the local English who were residing within the burr. For many, this would have also meant being forced to destroy their own homes to get it done.
