Kent was a jaz studies major in college, but decided he wanted to be a musician. He changed his major several times and eventually got out with an english literature degree. In the late nineties, Kent found himself working for pearl dot com on their web site. This led him into biophysics which is computer science plus biology. And that's how he learned about machine learning at miss jane ing.
