Everybody is going to be limited by the style in which they do it. Some people have more tools in their tool box than others. I wasn't reading writers like patricia lockwood growing up, so i wasn't emulating that style as a younger writer. So i learned that you can writing like that and use it to inspire you to try to write differently. That's what it's really good for. But it was that feeling of writing, writing feels sometimes like a competition,. Cause you read somebody better than you and you're like, well, in a tournament, i could never defeat them.
