Is There a Discrimination Prejudice in the Model?
There are certain toms where we can all agree that a processes or systems should not discriminate against people on the basis of protected classes like gendar. But it also seems in the discussion of responsible a i an the question of machine learnding ethics, that there are types of problems that don't lend themselves so easily to existing legal frameworks. Some of these appear to be rather more identifiable problems than others. We have direct risk, which is specifically there are ways in which individuals are directly discriminated against. Indirect risk, whichs we know, kind of hard to untangle. I think the apple card example is one of the best examples at the museum. It isn't really obvious what
