Can You See That Coming?

In 2005, we signed an agreement on the agreed guidelines and political parameters of a border settlement. I don't see any settlement where you have large exchanges of territory. The Chinese right through from 85 have been insisting that the bottom line in any settlement is that you must give us back to long. That is simply not possible for any Indian government. So nothing has really happened. Talks between the special representatives of the two sides have worked out some framework but it requires a political push.
