Marathon Training Plans - How Do You Start?

Don't be afraid to call yourself a beginner just because you're, you've been running for a while. There is not one size fits all when it comes to marathon training plans. The majority of the runs will be quite tame and should be building up to the longest stuff. For a marathon training plan, you'd expect a long run. It's like an hour and a half or more per week. And so we talked about building up gradually - there's no magic number which shall say '10k' But if you start out at 10% your first few weeks are probably going to be pretty easy.
