Luke's ENGLISH Podcast - Learn British English with Luke Thompson

CHAPTER

The Differences in Vocabulary

In the UK, we have the word biscuit and in the USA cookie. Biscuits are often smaller and a bit harder or with more crunch to it. In southern states of the US, a biscuit can be a larger thing and is a savory food. We call our gas station 'petrol' which is short for petroleum - but that's just not true. It's derived from crude oil slash petroleum so let me get rid of that reference. I'm now going to stop the video. Everyone, round of applause for Sarah Donalean. Bye! Happy listening!
