The man whose face would launch a thousand masks has been identified. The Sheffield Head's name is Jim and his father was a coal miner. His first job out of school led him to work at the Safety and Mines Research Establishment, which then got subsumed into the Health and Safety Executive. He told Patricia about how his head was encased in Plaster to make the mold that would become the infamous Sheffield Head.
