We tend to start focusing on practices of whatever, you know, how well we practice some of these things. That is kind of where we end up too often rather than looking at the outcome. If infrastructure as code is a solution that works for you, by all means use it. But the problem you're trying to solve is not how to do infrastructure as code, but how to actually deploy on demand without causing failures.
