The Netflix breakout hit, "Squid Game," now worth over $900 million, is being hailed for proving shows can succeed without an all-white cast. Apparently, the people praising the show's diversity have never heard of "The Cosby Show" or "The Jeffersons" before. It’s International Pronouns Day and the State Department decided to put out a celebratory tweet explaining why some people choose to put their pronouns in their email and social media. With all of the issues the country is dealing with, are we focusing on the things that actually matter or getting lost in the minutiae? Given that New York City is removing a statue of Thomas Jefferson from City Hall, it seems like the latter. At the same time, Seattle fire and police employees left their boots at City Hall after being discharged for not complying with the vaccine mandate. We’ve got government officials taking down statues of Thomas Jefferson while first responders are being fired for not following authoritarian mandates.
