Is There Really Value in Having Great Mission Statement?

Is there really a value in having great mission statement, something that makes a difference for the employees? And i was thinking about this in and your staff can get behind it. I'mwertet iment to think there's a danger, particularly any sort of modern world, to conflate the mission statement with the tag line. But most of the time, tag lines are are great, but not very good admission statements.
