Is This a Good Speaker?
The center channel is the star on television shows and often a lot of movies so if you're going to spend a lot of money on your 5.1 system do not skimp on the center channel. Most companies that sell speakers also believe that the left and right channel are the glory channels and do not care about the center channel compared to their set starry channels. Center channel speakers can't be laid on their side for obvious packaging reasons and that messes with speakers especially if you're like oh we have our special fancy audio engineers and they made this amazing speaker for our for our stereo speakers but when you lay it sideways things don't work as well.
