Anti Abortion - The Birth of the Women's Liberation Movement

Doctors teamed up with like minded lawyers and set out to reform abortion laws at the state level. The hope is, you know, these doctors will be able to perform more of the borti that they think are necessary in cases where women had been raped,. or the mental or physical health of the fetus was at risk. For centuries, the catholic church had red all abortion murder. And in the 19 sixties, a movement began to form around that idea. But outside of this catholic opposition, the pushback these reform laws were minimal. Mainline protestant institutions even came out in support of expanding acsess to abortion.
