The Importance of Understanding the Concerns

Antonoflow: I think the crux of the argument is a thing that's called instrumental convergence. Any agent regardless of its goals will always convert up in the same three sub goals which are going to be I don't want to die. And so if you accept that premise, you accept that an AGI who is super intelligent will convert up in these three goals and that could sit in an adversarial position against us because we are potentially a threat to the AGI's existence or could alter its goals. Antonoflow: So many people staking out different positions on this issue at one time has been very confusing for me.
