The Dopamine System and the Emotional Buzz

In school, what is created is a kind of desire for the kid to be a computer, not a human. What becomes the buzz, the emotional buzz is performance. If kids that don't get that buzz from performance or they don't intrinsically love the math and English then they emotionally dissociate from the rest of the material. We're trying to build meaning in our mind. And that we get to as students, young, very young learners, impose some of our own intrinsic motivation to do certain things and not others. That that isn't supported as we're adults.
