Psychiatry - Transference and Counter Transference

Transference began as freud's concept that people make false connections between people in their past and people in their present. Froyd noted that for many of our patients, as they work with us, the patients will experience strong emotions about us. Counter transference is me experiencing something that i can use to help me understand my patient. And again, the ethical obligation is to use that to benefit the patient.
