The Role of Race in the World Cup

When watching football we see the French national team for example being represented by predominantly black people with African roots. Yet, yet you know in 2023 we are talking about racial profiling. How does the French society reconcile that? I don't know how happy the French are about being represented by such a let's say a colorful full team. The French are happy to be winning with such a team. And every four years when the World Cup opens, they are public conversations about the racial makeup of this national team. That also takes us back to social and economic concerns soccer or football. It's a sport played by poor people. So to me it makes sense that the greater proportion of population of color
