Deacons and Elders in the Church

Yount: The deacons are responsible immediately to the elders, ultimately to the congregation. So they act like two houses of the legislature. We do not expect the deacons to come back and say, we don't have enough to get to cincinnati. That is their role. They should tell us that. Ad in fact, our deacons deliberately do not meet together right in order to work on the budget. But if you're working on building matters, or having other issues brought up, then it's a different matter.
