Jeptha's Promise to Victory

In Judges chapter 11, Jeptha made a promise to God that whatever came out of his house when he returned from battle would be the Lord's. His only daughter heard him approaching and she happily bounced out the front door to say hi to daddy. He was "devastated" with surprise and heartbreak but Yahweh did not punish him in any way. The daughter looked at her dad verse 36 and said, Dad, you have given God your word. You made a promise. And so do with me whatever you promised to do. Just let me do this.
