How to Calculate Bitcoin's Self Custody

Less than a quarter of Bitcoin users actually do self custody in a hardware wallet. 80 percent or so 70 percent will learn on a exchange and also hold it in their own kind of wallet but they'll often be something like that. The total number of people holding Bitcoin is not likely to be 100 million as many believe, he says. It's just somewhere around 80 million or so is my best approximation so far.
