Is Attachment Theory a Mechanism for Understanding Why That Might Work?

attachment theory gives us a mechanism for why that might work. And be the case that essentially the therapist can act as a temporary, secure attachment figure. When we feel in the presence of a secure attachment figure, and if we shower our clients with enough unconditional positive regard, that's the kind of love that the christian tradition ascribes to god. It is unconditional love that's often missing when we get into religious communities.
