The Importance of Metaphysical Theories
Theories don't have to stay metaphysical. If Brett's theory is a legitimate theory, it may well see its metaphysical state as a scandal that needs to be overcome. Theory of evolution has this idea of survival and fittest is very common. Popper was really disturbed by that fact and he wasn't sure that that allowed Darwinian evolution to count as a scientific theory because it was an untestable theory.
