What Happened to the Sotheby's?
In 2012, the Sotheby's case kind of blew up the entire scheme. Nancy Wiener ran this very prominent gallery on the Upper East Side that was originally started by her mother Doris Wiener. The authorities raided the place and said that Nancy Wiener was selling and housing dispersing stolen art. They found these pieces had doctored provenance or no provenance.
