Housing has always been an issue for especially low-income folks, but for the working class in general. I think that this has been an issue definitely post 2008 in general and that's when tenants together where I work was founded. Renee: We can no longer just talk about how foreclosures had moved out entire populations from poor or working class communities. To deal with that crisis, we really had to grapple with the situation of tenants on the ground.
