I think as a rule we do well in trying to make sure that the obvious downside risks are addressed before these technologies are spread widely but let me take for example something I'm again in favor of which is gene drive technology to make mosquitoes barren and stop man kids and wipe them out. The idea is that that may be a way of eradicating malaria broadly speaking perhaps some other diseases do I have that broadly right from what I've read? And it's probably not that they play a hugely positive role in local ecosystems, you know  we're not sure we can know that for certainty.
