David Gergen: Harvard really did put together an admission system that was systemically discriminated against Asian applicants. He says there's a lot of what-ifs here on the way in which these cases came up. But one thing that I just keep circling back to is Harvard has a system when it walked into court where it preserved institutions that privileged white applicants, he says.Gergen: Do you fix racial discrimination at the individual level? Or do you fix it at a group level?
