The Great Pilter and the Great Filter

Nick bostrum, who came up with the first serious look at the simulation hypothesis, actually had another one that i found even more interesting. He calls it the great pilter and the great filter is when we don't make it past when the echo chambers and the primitive minds take over. And it is a negatively compounding spiral down, and then shit happens, and we're gone. It's an extinction level event.
