The Rise of World History in China in the 1950s
The 1950s was a critical moment for the rise of world history as a discipline in China. One of the important reasons is the restructuring of China's higher education system according to the Soviet model. The whole world history discipline in China today is still carrying on the legacy from the socialist period. And that legacy actually was modeled on the Soviet Union. But this social and political process transformation would also have impact on people's understanding of ideas, knowledge, production.
