The Coffin Roads - The Journeys
There were all sorts of superstitions, really. It was thought to be bad luck if the coffin touched the ground. Spirits didn't like to travel over water so often the coffin road would cross a stream. Some of these processions would have up to 500 men carrying a coffin for sometimes up to 70 miles.
