Neurological Versus Psychiatric Hallucinations

The best way to distinguish hallucinations, whether auditory or visual, that is neurological versus psychiatric. Neurological hallucinations have no emotional content, whereas psychiatric hallucinations do. You can usually easily tell the difference with a patient. Just ask them not only what it was like, but what did it have? Did you know they were not there?
