Shah's career hit a glass ceiling. Eventually, hip-hop's memory of the first female MC started to fade too. Shah moved on with her life. Until 10 years later when she was in a record store and spotted a Sugar Hill compilation on sale for $100. She decided not to take it lying down. So she rounded up all the old label mates.
