In chapter two, the book takes the case of New York and Chicago as early industrial cities. The assemblage of material and relational practices that emphasize a shift towards ordered urbanization. And there are three aspects that are necessary to attain this strategy: sense of loyalty to a larger community of city and nation; instructing workers on what is the quote-unquote proper way to really own the city.
