i think it's a good illustration of what peter's saying about the bad faith of the conservatives. So what the ninth amendment says is that the bill of rights is not exhaustive, that the people hold other rights. Just because the right isn't listed there doesn't mean that it doesn't exist and that the government can't infringe those rights. And that's exactly what conservatives have a problem with.
