Hobbes thought politics went best if we rescued from these cold, heartless, ultimately violent rationalists. Wilson Craft wanted to tell him and tell her readers that it was indefensible. That attack on Burke is also, at a stretch, an attack on the Hobbes project too. For Hobbes, it's the precondition of there being a journey at all. Those are two very, very different kinds of political philosophy.
