The Difference Between a Will and a Trust

There's also trusts that don't start until after you pass away. And in that situation, the trust holds your assets, verses them going to specific beneficiaries. The benefits to this is it any assets in your trust are private, meaning they won't go through probate where a will will become public knowledge.
