The Mad Cap Laughs is Barrett's first solo album. The recording process for the album has been the source of some controversy. After several sessions, Jones was pulled off the album and Gilmore and Waters were asked to produce the rest of the sessions. There are some magnificent moments on there, but it's a disturbing album to listen to.
