A rant I had one morning after a jog when I was just trying to get to this, the bottom of a problem that obsesses everybody right now. Why at a time of gigantic technological change, are we still stagnating? People seem to be unhappy. They're not happy with their jobs. We're worried about being able to do things like climate change and deal with our elderly population. And also, a sense, bearing a word from a friend of mine, Steen Westlake, of inauthenticity,. That some of us feel like we're working at jobs that aren't actually contributing to the output.
