I think everything should come with a schematic and it should come with the firmware. I have an Android tablet from a supermarket brand in the UK Tesco. It's useless now and it's a black box, right? You can't get the schematics for it. We need to bring that back in all manner of things. Like the framework laptop should be how every laptop is you should be able to understand the technology you're given.
