The History of Sparta

Sparta rises to be the dominant city-state in all of Greece. The Spartan warrior king Pausanius leads a combined Greek force of well-armed hoplite foot soldiers. In 405 BC, a Spartan called Lysander finally captures the Athenian fleet and closes their port at Pireas. Despite being the most famous and influential of all ancient Greek city-states, Athens falls.
