The Evolution of Etruria in the Villanova Period
There are few signs of a strong social hierarchy in the proto-villainovin period. Almost everybody was cremated across the whole region. Women were buried with a spindle whirl, part of the equipment associated with spinning yarn and weaving cloth. Elite male burials from that time often included distinctive crested bronze helmets,. Bronze armor, spears, swords, and other highly prestigious items.
