LZ Granderson: Martin Luther King Jr. as a rare man. LZ: He refused to hire bodyguard, an armed watchman to guard his home after bomb and dynamite were thrown under lawn of another activist. LZ says he was in Nashville delivering talks when grand jury indicted him on charges related to the bus boycott. "How could I be a leader of a nonviolent movement and yet use weapons of violence for my personal protection? That's how he wrote about that," LZ writes.
