The Role of Aqueous Humor in Wilson Disease

In 1986, a patient with Wilson disease developed Kaiser Fleischer rings in his left eye that made normal amounts of aqueous humor. He had suffered unilateral ocular trauma to the right eye when he was younger and so that eye actually made significantly less aqueous humour because of the trauma. So does it mean anything? Are they like prognostically significant? Do they tell us anything about the severity of the disease? Yeah. They do seem to resolve with chelation therapy. As the serum copper levels fall, the Kaiser Fle Fischer rings will regress. But only about 50% of those who don't have neuropsychiatric symptoms will have Kaiser Fleischer Rings.
