Is the News Still as Interesting as It Used to Be?
The classic liberal view of the public sphere was one in which most people would have a rather passive role. And to be a good citizen, a good member of this bourgeois set of institutions, you would engage fairly passively. But I think that really has changed quite a lot and it's very noticeable how much that is no longer really the case. You sort of feel there should be some kind of what cybernetics calls feedback.
