The Importance of Fusion in Jazz
Jazz is prone to hybridization. A genre that I really like is jazz rock fusion, especially some of the music. The banjo itself is an interesting instrument because it has its roots in Africa. It's got a rhythmic side and then the strength side. But if your ear is very familiar with an instrument in one style, sometimes it is hard to gravitate to what people are doing.
