Early on, it took the form of giving poets the right to teach. Later on, through the 13 hundreds, humanism also started to influence the trivium teachers. And then this was given a dramatic boost after 14 53, when constantinople fell the turks. All sorts of scholars and authors who knewa ancient literature in constantinople fled to the west. Some of themn then went to teach at the western universities.
