The Relationship Between Unionization and Inequality

After World War II, until sometime in the 70s, wages compressed and inequality lessened. Does the decrease in unionization explain a growing inequality in America? No, I don't believe it's causal, which means I don't think the unions caused that. It's just where the economy changed and it really did favor sort of high- and high-skill workers more than everyone else.
