The Valyrian Empire and the Napi
The Valyrians may have valued the silk more than just enslaving yet another race because it's rarer. The island of Noth is in worse shape after the doom, even though the Valyrians were such big slavers and the Napi make quote unquote the best slaves. A company of Valentin adventurers once built a trade town complete with timber palisades and slave pens but none survived.
