What Do We Know About the Concept of Waka?
The word huaka means something sacred. It has a specific use in many parts of peru as meaning a what we would call a temple mound, or a structure of some kind. Waka is an inka word, actually a cata word, and it can be glossed as something sacred. And this has been one of the most spectacular aspects of moce archaeology since the 19 eighties,. late eighties, into the nineties. There's so much more to see at macho peche on Peru's north coast.
