What Happened to Hoover's Secret Files?

Puver died in May of 1972 and at that point he had been head of the FBI for 48 years which is kind of an incredible run you know. One of the first questions for everyone in Washington was what happens to Hoover's secret files. There were two collections of files as you suggest one were his personal file one was the official and confidential file. They did find some material in there that was obviously of official significance so we don't really know what was in those personal files.
